My first e-book (worthy of the name) has been completed: unleashed. It contains a lot of moving image material of works from the pioneering days of digital and interactive technologies, the 1990s and early 2000s. At that time, interactive tools opened up completely new possibilities for communication design and art for the first time. These innovations enabled designers and artists to playfully go beyond the familiar forms of analog media. They began to explore the visual qualities of moving images and the interfaces between users and computers, leading to poetic forms of expression. Using modern media archaeological methods, a selection of outstanding historical projects were restored and made accessible on contemporary computer systems.
A young generation of visual communication designers featured in the publication are now exploring contemporary technologies such as generative AI and virtual reality and continuing the search for creative rule-breaking.
